The MC showing is located McDougal Creek, approximately 10 kilometres south of Clearwater.

The area is underlain by rocks of the Devonian to Mississippian Eagle Bay and Fennell formations. The Eagle Bay Formation consists mostly of felsic volcanic tuffs and ignimbrites and appears to be conformably overlain by the Fennell Formation basalts and tuffites. The rocks dip westerly, forming the east limb of a syncline.

Locally, a pyritized breccia, containing sphalerite and galena, occurs at the contact between rhyolites of the Eagle Bay Formation and overlying Fennell basalts. Graphitic and siliceous tuffites up to 400 metres thick occur along the contact.

Barrier Reef Resources Ltd. first staked claims in the area of McDougal Creek, in 1978, as part of an area play following the discovery of mineralization at the Chu Chua deposit 10 kilometres south- southwest. Craigmont Mines Ltd optioned the claims as part of the play. They did an airborne EM/mag survey but little else on the Barrier Reef Resources Ltd. claims. Craigmont’s primary interest was in the Foghorn property three kilometres south east of the claims. Craigmont had disappointing drill results on the Foghorn property and as a result dropped all of its options. Esso Resources Ltd. optioned several claim groups in the area and did follow up ground geophysics. Shortly after this work, Esso dropped its options. Lucero Resources Ltd. staked the MC claims following the discovery of the Samatosum deposit in 1987 and optioned them to Pilgrim Holdings Ltd. They did more detailed geophysics and geochemical work in 1988. The property was subsequently optioned to Initial Developers Ltd. in 1990, and they subsequently drilled five diamond drill holes. In November 1998, Spokane Resources Ltd. staked three blocks of claims, totalling 55 units, covering the central MC ground including the main geophysical anomalies and drilling sites. A program of line cutting, ground HLEM and prospecting was done. In July and August of 2000, the Company performed a program of geological mapping with rock and till sampling.

In 1988, a grab sample returned 85 parts per million copper, 510 parts per million zinc, 6900 parts per million lead, 100 parts per billion gold and 95.6 grams per tonne silver (Assessment Report 17782).

In 1990, a drilling returned 40 grams per tonne silver, 0.88 per cent lead and 2.48 per cent zinc, over 2 metres within a broad stringer zone (Assessment Report 26301).
